After changing schools within her district, a transgender third-grade girl in New Hampshire will be allowed to use the women’s restroom and wear girls’ clothing.
Janson Wu, an attorney with Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders who represented the New Hampshire student, told the CBS affiliate that schools need to have policies in place to protect transgender and gender-variant youth, in addition to comprehensive antibullying policies.
“I think as the environments become more and more welcoming to transgender and gender-variant youth, we’re going to see a lot more students coming out,” Wu told CBS. “And that’s something that schools and parents will need to be prepared to deal with. Children often have difficulty having schools respect them for who they believe they are. If a transgender girl wants to be able to wear feminine clothes to school and be addressed as a girl, oftentimes we see schools feeling a fair amount of discomfort around that.”
As the Advocate points out, it’s nice to hear about this kind of thing when we so often hear about trans kids being shamed and humiliated by both kids and teachers at school. Good for this girl and the educators who did the right thing.

Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe has responded to Emmett C. Burns Jr., a Maryland state delegate who found it appalling that another athlete had spoken up for marriage equality, and essentially ripped him to shreds. And it’s kind of awesome.
You must read his full letter. (NSFW - some pretty strong language abounds.) A brief clip:
I can assure you that gay people getting married will have zero effect on your life. They won’t come into your house and steal your children. They won’t magically turn you into a lustful cockmonster. They won’t even overthrow the government in an orgy of hedonistic debauchery because all of a sudden they have the same legal rights as the other 90 percent of our population—rights like Social Security benefits, child care tax credits, Family and Medical Leave to take care of loved ones, and COBRA healthcare for spouses and children. You know what having these rights will make gays? Full-fledged American citizens just like everyone else, with the freedom to pursue happiness and all that entails. Do the civil-rights struggles of the past 200 years mean absolutely nothing to you?
Okay, so name-calling and throwing around profanity isn’t often a good thing, but still, this letter is amazing.
The first Boy Scout in the state of Maine to leave the national organization over its anti-gay policy is just 9 years old.
Christopher Tiner’s father was a former Scout leader who recently decided to leave the organization, and 9-year-old Christopher learned about Scouts leaving the organization nationwide for its stance on LGBT people. Christopher decided he would leave too.
In the end, does Christopher regret his decision?
“No,” he said.

In essence, people… no not people, some people, think that those who are aberrant or canon deviants pose some sort of threat to the manner of “the traditional life.” However, is this world not built off of one’s questions and evolution from what was and is, to what can be? Thus, it is regressive to fear and despise which is different (Within reason at least).
So, I’m kinda thinking the topic video will have a part one and part two. The topic stated above will represent the part two. :)
